A specific environment can be experienced as both empty and overpopulated at the same time. It radiates a certain energy – a ghostly pulsation that lingers and waits to be witnessed by its viewer. This work is inspired by this energy and creates, through the repetition of different materials, an abstract composition – an echo of this extraordinary territory. The installation consists of wooden poles, reinforcement grid and recycled electrical cables, and its form directly reflects the place where it is installed – an old ruin, the remains of a burned-down building.
‘Where shadow rests in form’ is a site-specific installation that resembles an abstract body in a moment of transformation. It highlights the fluid process of form change: becoming nothing from something – and vice versa. The installation consists of fragmented surfaces of an abstract body, connected into a structure that interacts with the surrounding landscape. The work is built as a shifting entity – from a space to a dynamic body. It dominates and invades walls, moves freely through the air, and is eventually released out.
The site with the artwork was open for public from June to September 2025.
The exhibition was arranged by Konst och Landskap and Wij Trädgårdar, in collaboration with @konstframjandetgavleborg , as part of @i_samlad_rorelse with support from Kulturrådet, Region Gävleborg, ABF Gävleborg, Gunvor Göranssons Kulturstiftelse and Folkrörelsernas Konstfrämjande.
